Youth flying

Lasham Gliding Society offers schemes for youth flying, with varying levels of support towards flying costs, dependent upon age on the 1st January of the current year. There are three membership categories: Under 18 Years Old, Under 21 Years Old and Under 26 Years Old.

Lasham Youth has been set up to encourage the presence and participation of younger people at Lasham by making gliding more accessible to under 26 year olds.

Reductions in launch and soaring costs as approved by Lasham Youth Committee, using charitable donations from Lasham Gliding Society members.

Saturday Evenings

Lasham Youth run a Saturday Evening course during the summer months enabling us to provide an environment where young members can fly with people of similar ages.

We have our own instructors, tug pilots and winch drivers, and aim to be a centre of excellence and help individuals achieve their goals. In the event that bad weather rules out flying, we shall run lectures and simulator sessions instead.
